Alan Sulc

Ball Juggling Act (CZECH REPUBLIC)

Alan Sulc (14) - “the wonder child from Prague” - represents the 6th generation of a well-known traditional circus artists’ dynasty, the Berousek family.

Already at the age of 5, he started to acquire the basic of floor acrobatic and hand balancing/ equilibristic and to practice juggling with small balls. His talent, ambition and patience at training - specially the juggling - impressed his family.

His first appearances with the actual act - ball juggling - was in the CIRCUS HUMBERTO and CIRCUS ORIGINAL BEROUSEK in the Czech Republic, in 1998 and in Western-Europe at the EUROPEAN YOUTH CIRCUS FESTIVAL in Wiesbaden, Germany, in November 2002. For his successful performance he was awarded the “Golden Prize” and instantly engaged at CIRCUS CONELLI in Zurich, Switzerland. This engagement opened the door for Alan to enter in the world of show business as a professional artist and was a “springboard” for his artistic carrier.

In January 2003, during his appearance at the “Première Rampe” - International CIRCUS FESTIVAL FOR YOUNG ARTISTS in Monte-Carlo, Alan received the “Bronze Medal “ and an official invitation from H.S.H. Prince Renier III of Monaco - initiator, organiser and president of the most famous circus festival in the world for professional circus artists - to participate at the 28th INTERNATIONAL CIRCUS FESTIVAL OF MONTE-CARLO, in January 2004.

Having a lot of success and fascinating the audience and the jury, Alan was awarded the Bronze Medal”, “Cup of S.A.S. Princess Antoinette (for the youngest performer/participant of the festival) and “Special Prize of Tele Monte-Carlo”. The audience of the festival recompensed Alan’s grateful performance with standing ovation.
