PORTUGAL
The
brothers Ivan and Adans Lopez Peres represent the
5th generation of a famous Portuguese family of circus artistes; the father, an
artiste-acrobat, clown, which even the generations before him were, and the
mother, a flamenco dancer, graduate of the Madrid Conservatoire of Dance.
Ivan and Adans were born and spent their childhoods in the
circus world.
In 1986, when the boys were 5 and 12 years old, their parents
decided to leave the circus. In the following years the brothers pursued school,
practiced sports, especially acrobatic gymnastics and attended classes of
classic and modern dance.
In 1992 the family re-entered the circus arena, presenting a
traditional clown act in which even Adans took part. Simultaneously, Ivan 11
years old and Adans 18 years old, the brothers started rehearsing an act of
partner equilibristic, and they were admitted at the National Circus School-Egidio
Palmiri, Cesenatico, in Italy. At this school they acquired the technical
knowledge of the acrobatic elements and together with the instructors, Agustino
Merzari (Italy) and Beniamino Vardo (Russia) they created the actual act.
The
act is a modern presentation of partner equilibristic, in which the static and
dynamic acrobatic exercises are combined with movements of modern dance.
The brothers appeared for the first time with the new act at
the FESTIVAL MONDIAL DU CIRQUE DE DEMAIN in
Paris, France, in 1996, where they awarded the "Gold Medal".
The success of the appearances bring and the appreciation of the
specialists result in the following years in performances at the most famous
circuses and varieties in Europe, amongst others:
