In 1984, Ola and Barbro Nordstrom established "The Ludvika Circus
Variety". They were well-known with their bicycle act and they have meant a lot
for The Wheelies´ development. From the beginning, the members of "The
Wheelies" (Jens, Fredrik, Daniel) took part in another unicycle act called "The
Bellboys", but in 1989 they founded "The Wheelies".
This group has received a lot of distinctions. Here are some of
them: Prince Rainer´s cup in Monte Carlo in 1991. The "Golden Elephant"
in the European Circusfestival in Germany in1993. The "Bronze Lion" in
Wuqiao, China 1993. The "Bronze Medal" in Wuhan, China 1994. The
winner of the "Deutscher Artistenpreis" (ZDF) in1994. Price for most
technical act in North-Korea in 1997 and awarded at the FESTIVAL
MONDIAL DU CIRQUE DE DEMAIN in Paris, France (1995).
During the past years The Wheelies has had a lot of engagements and has made a
lot of TV-shows (for BBC, ZDF, TVE, SVT) all over the world. Right now Daniel and Fredrik
are studying at universities in Sweden but are free at holidays for shorter period
engagements. However they have considered to take a break in their studying and work as
full time artists.
